CWPP & Related Documents
The Community Wildfire Protection Plan is the primary planning document developed to help identify wildfire risks, establish local priorities, and guide future mitigation, preparedness, and outreach efforts. The CWPP brings together input from local officials, emergency responders, landowners, community stakeholders, and technical partners to create a practical framework for reducing wildfire risk across the county.
Once finalized and approved, the CWPP can be used to support future grant applications, guide hazardous fuels reduction projects, strengthen public education efforts, improve emergency preparedness, and help coordinate wildfire mitigation activities across communities, rural properties, and priority areas.
Hamilton County Wildfire Risk Assesments
The wildfire risk assessment provides a countywide look at areas where wildfire hazards, community assets, vegetation, access, and other risk factors may overlap. This information helps identify locations where wildfire mitigation, preparedness, and response planning may be most needed.
The interactive wildfire risk assessment map allows users to explore risk patterns across the county and better understand how local conditions may influence wildfire vulnerability. This tool is intended to support planning discussions, public awareness, and future prioritization of mitigation projects.

Hamilton County Wildfire Ignition Causes
The wildfire history and ignition trends section provides a countywide look at recorded wildfire incidents from 2005–2025. This information helps show where wildfires have occurred, how many incidents have been documented, what ignition causes have been identified, and how many acres have burned over time.
The accompanying map and figures help identify local fire patterns, recurring ignition sources, and areas that may benefit from targeted prevention, outreach, or mitigation efforts. By understanding past wildfire activity, the CWPP can better support future planning, preparedness, and risk reduction across the county.
